HOUSE OF GAIA COFFEEHOUSE SUNDAYS

Back in the 1950s through 1970s, many young people, including Beatniks and then Hippies, gathered at listening places called Coffeehouses.   Coffeehouses were gathering places that served coffee and related coffee drinks, plus light snacks, muffins or pastries.   Coffeehouses also hosted musical performances, mostly folk music by singer-songwriters.

Please join us at House of Gaia’s Coffeehouse on the third Sunday of each month, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.  The first Gaia Coffeehouse will be held on Sunday, November 18 and will continue every Sunday.

Join Carlene Thissen as she celebrates the music of her influences, Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez.   These three amazing women were pivotal in forging the folk music movement of the 1960s and 1970s.   They were also Carlene’s primary influences as she learned to play guitar as a teenager.  She will take you behind the scenes and share intimate stories that inspired the music they sang, and the impact their music inspires still today.   This show will take you back, whether you were there or not, and once again challenge you to change the world.
